Romania grants USD 71 mln to Moldova in one year
Romania gave the Republic of Moldova over USD 71 million last year worth of grants, within the framework of assistance programs.
The grants were used for refurbishing and equipping over 750 kindergartens, as well as for renovating the Mother and Child Institute, reports Radiochisinau.md. Authorities also plan to buy school buses, ambulances and other means of transport, using the development funds.
They have used USD 2 million to renovate a historic building in Chisinau called the Organ Hall. A venue for musical and theatre performances will be built with about EUR 800,000, which were received from the Romanian state.
Romania is the second largest donor for the Republic of Moldova, after the United States of America.
