Romania, in cards for Procter&Gamble's next large project
US companies have invested USD 1.2 billion in Romania since 2009 and American companies are still interested in making local investments, according to Mark Gitenstein, the US ambassador to Romania. Procter & Gamble is one of these investors, said Gitenstein, quoted by Romanian media.
Sotirios Marinidis, general manager of P&G Romania, said the country is in cards for a possible next large investment. It can be a new factory, a new services center or the expansion of the existing facilities, said Marinidis, adding a decision has not been made yet. Procter&Gamble posted a turnover of EUR 596 million last year in Romania, up 10.9 percent on 2008. The company opened its Urlati factory this fall, following a USD 100 million investment.
