Romania sells EUR 1.3 billion bonds, above planned amount
Romania's Finance Ministry on Thursday sold three-year foreign currency bonds worth EUR 1.3 billion, above the planned amount, at an average yield of 4.8 percent a year. The ministry planned to sell debt worth EUR 1 billion at Thursday's auction. The issue carries a coupon of 4.5 percent a year. Romania has to repay EUR 1.4 billion in one-year treasury bills due November 29.
Thursday's issue was the second forex bond sale on the domestic market this year, after the ministry raised EUR 1.2 billion in one-year treasury bonds on July 28.
