Romanian Central Bank governor: Stable macro economy, but problematic on a micro level
The Romanian economy is stable at a macro level, but has big micro issues, said National Bank of Romania (BNR) governor Mugur Isarescu, quoted by Agerpres.
"The Romanian economy has macro stability. We met all the Maastricht criteria. We don't need confusion. The problem is to keep these criteria," he added. Insolvency is one of the major problems at the macroeconomic level, Isarescu said.
"Insolvency is a problem - to close a firm and then open another. With dozens of financial indicators now, we have companies that close and do not pay their debts."
