Romanian currency appreciates against EUR to lowest rate since April last year
The Romanian currency further appreciated on Wednesday, to a rate of RON 4.1260/EUR , according to data from the Romanian Central Bank (BNR). This was 0.43 percent lower than the previous session and the lowest level since late April 2010. Tuesday's rate was of RON 4.1439/EUR.
In March last year, the Romanian currency reached an even lower rate that today's: RON 4.0879 for an EUR, according to data from BNR.
For the USD, the Central Bank posted a reference rate of RON 2.9049 /USD, 0.15 percent lower than the day before. Check out other currencies here. On the money market, short-term interest rates are very low compared to the previous session and below the monetary policy interest rate by 6.25 percent per year.
