Horia Hahaianu (in picture) will be the new CEO of the Romanian electricity carrier Transelectrica, replacing Stelian Gal, who was appointed to lead the company on November 15, 2010. The change was done under an order issued by the Romanian Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Ion Ariton.

“It is an order of the minister that we will respect. I however would retire in September. Until then I will work in the company, perhaps on an advisor position,” according to Stelian Gal, quoted by Romanian media.

Horia Hahaianu has run Teletrans since April 2009. The company is a subsidiary of Transelectica and provides communications and IT services. Horia Hahaianu is also one of the founders of the local company Digisign, provider of IT security solutions.

The decision to change the CEO of Transelectrica will be implemented by the management starting May 11, when the company's Board of Directors will meet.
