Romanian furniture producer and retailer Rus Savitar expands production five fold with EUR 5 mln

Romanian furniture producer Rus Savitar, which recently opened two franchised Casa Rusu stores, in the Romanian cities of Bistrita and Suceava, plans to open another in Bucharest and invest EUR 5 million in expanding production this year. With this investment, it will create 400 new jobs and reach a production capacity of 10,000 upholstered furniture pieces a month, five times more than the current production capacity.
With five existing franchised stores and 11 stores run by the producer, Rus Savitar started life as a furniture retailer in 1997, but has since expanded into furniture production. It now has a production capacity of 18,000 sets of furniture and some 2,000 upholstered furniture pieces each month.
The group is controlled by the Rusu family. Last year, the group had a turnover of EUR 26 million and for this year, it hopes for a 10 percent increase in sales. The company’s general manager is Cristian Rusu (in picture).
