Romanian independent candidate for the European Parliament elections opens office in barn
Young Romanian activist and independent candidate for this year’s elections for the European Parliament, Erwin Albu, has “opened” in early-February his first office in Mosna village, Sibiu county, in the barn of Willy Schuster’s farm.
Albu is still gathering the 100,000 signatures needed to run for the elections in May. He says he will campaign against the seizure of agricultural lands, against genetically modified organisms and for a clean environment and on behalf of rural areas.
‘The European Union is practically strangling the peasant farm, namely the essence of traditional values and healthy life, but also the solution for millions of jobs and a decent living,” said Erwin Albu.
“Together with Willy Schuster and other peasants we’ll continue in the European Parliament the fight for what is wise and good: the land, the environment and the peasant farm,” he added.
Earlier this month, the National Executive Committee of Romania’s Social Democratic Party PSD has also validated the list of candidates for the European elections to be held in May this year.
