Local insurer Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari underwrote gross premiums of EUR 174.7 million in the first nine months of the year, up by 6.4% year-on-year.

Its revenues amounted to EUR 54.7 million in the third quarter and its operating profit stood at over EUR 3.1 million during this period.

The company’s revenues on the general insurance segment rose by 6.4% in the first nine months of the year compared to the same period last year, to over EUR 156 million.

The insurance policies for goods and properties accounted for half of the growth recorded on the non-motor insurance segment. Car insurances rose by 4% to EUR 108.5 million.

The insurer still spends more than it earns on the mandatory car insurance segment, according to the company’s representatives, who are searching for solutions to improve its performance.
