Romanian investments in energy projects could reach EUR 30 bln by 2010, fueled by stock market listing
Romania could invest EUR 30 billion in the energy sector by 2020, with the main source of financing for the investments being the Bucharest Stock Exchange, said Varujan Vosganian, president of the Economy, Industries and Services commission in the Senate, who attended the Energy Forum 2010.
“large companies in the energy sector invest EUR 1.5 billion a year. Each currently invests between EUR 80 and 220 miilion. If we add the investment in the 3 and 4 Cernavoda reactors, the investments in renewable sources, the micro power plants on the Olt basin, the investments in Tarniţa Lăpusteşti, Galaţi, Brăila, Doiceşti, than Romania would invest up to EUR 30 billion in the energy sector by 2010,” said Vosganian, quoted by Agerpres.
“We could get the money from the stock market. IPOs could raise between EUR 500 million and EUR 1 billion,” said Vosganian.
