Romanian medieval castle presented at the international tourism fair in Barcelona
Romania’s Corvinilor Castle, one of the best preserved medieval monuments of this kind in Europe, will be presented at the international tourism fair in Barcelona. The event, which is seen as one of the most important events for tourism operators, will take place between November 17 and November 19.
“The fair in Barcelona is preparing travel packages for next year. Therefore, we will address both visitors and large travel agencies to include the castle in their holiday offers,” castle director Costin Tinca told local Agerpres.
Some 30 exhibitors from Romania will be present at fair. Corvinilor Castle representatives will present tourism offers which will include information about how to get to the castle and about its history.
Some 270,000 tourists visited the castle this year, until October, double compared to the figure registered three years ago.
Corvinilor Castle is located in Hunedoara county. Its construction started in 1446 at the orders of Ioan de Hunedoara, who was the Governor of the Kingdom of Hungary at the time. The building features tall and strong defense towers, bastions, an inner courtyard, and a drawbridge.
