Romanian soprano Elena Mosuc acclaimed in US for leading role in Lucia di Lammermoor
Romanian soprano singer Elena Mosuc has been praised by the US media for her recent performance as Lucia Ashton in Lucia di Lammermoor at the Dallas opera.
“Mosuc’s voice is clear, smooth, flexible, naturally attractive and clearly substantial. The vocal acrobatics assigned to this notoriously difficult role come to her naturally, right up to the horrifying and fascinating moment at which she -and the audience with her- fall under the spell of an imagined, distant reality," reads one of the reviews of the play. This was the first time the Romanian soprano played on an US scene. Read more reviews of her performance here.
Elena Mosuc, 47, born in Iasi (Romania), was educated at the "George Enescu" – Conservatory in Iasi. She won several international competitions and received many prestigious prizes. Since the beginning of her career, Elena Mosuc is connected closely to the Zurich Opera House, and she appeared there in various roles, among others as the Queen of the Night, Konstanze, Donna Anna, Lucia di Lammermoor, Linda di Chamounix.
Her upcoming schedule includes performances in Dallas, Zurich, Milan and Salzburg.
