Romanian taxpayers can contribute to buying Brancusi’s sculpture
Taxpayers can take part in the public subscription the Government organizes for buying Constantin Brancusi's famous sculpture The Wisdom of the Earth (Cumintenia Pamantului).
Companies can direct part of their tax on profit to an account managed by the Finance Ministry.
Taxpayers will get the money back if the total amount doesn’t reach EUR 6 million.
The Government adopted yesterday an emergency ordinance that creates the legal framework for starting the public subscription to buy the sculpture, reports local Mediafax.
The public subscription has a target of EUR 6 million. The state will pay a total of EUR 11 million for the sculpture, EUR 5 million of which will come directly from the state budget.
