19 March 2013

Santorini,GreeceThe travel agency Christian Tour sold holidays worth over EUR 1 million during the most recent tourism fair in Bucharest, which was attended by around 30,000 people. During the four-day fair, around 3,000 people bought their holidays from Christian Tour group, with all eyes on the agency's low cost division Europa Travel, which offered EUR 1 holidays.

The main sold destinations were Antalya, Crete, Corfu, Thassos and Kusadasi, and the average price per person was of EUR 470. The agency's luxury division Pegas Holidays sold 180 packages worth some EUR 200,000.

The agency expects sales of EUR 6 million in March, according to its CEO Raymond Maiorescu. The company hopes its low cost division and non-conventional marketing campaigns, as well as offers such as one called Crazy Shake and launched at the fair, will help it achieve this sales number.

“We have a lot of rooms booked and our own fleet of buses, which allows us to offer promotional packages at beginning or end season, such as the EUR 1 per six days of accommodation, where the client has to pay for transport. These 400 offers were sold in the first days of the fair,” said Teodor Calimanescu, general manager of Europa Travel, Christian Tour's low cost division.

The tourism fair took place between March 14 and 17 at Romexpo, in Bucharest. The average budget for packages purchased at the fair was of EUR 250-350 per family for domestic travels, and EUR 790-950 per family for holidays abroad.
