Individuals in Romania can check their tax situation online starting December 15, three months after the Virtual Private Area was launched and worked as a pilot project for taxpayers in Bucharest and Ilfov county, the Ministry of Finance announced.

The Virtual Private Area is the first electronic service operated in Romania via which individuals can check their tax situation online.

To access this service, individuals will have to identify themselves electronically through qualified digital certificates or insert their name/password together with authentication codes.
