Romanians don’t replace their household appliances unless they’re broken, study finds
Most Romanians (70%) do not change their appliances if they are not broken, shows a recent market study conducted by Reveal Marketing Research.
According to the report, 70% of Romanians buy new home appliances when the old ones break down, while 31% say they buy them when they discover advantageous promotions, and 17% because they want to equip their house with new technologies and innovations.
Also, economic conditions make Romanians more cautious about spending, with the percentage of those who choose to repair broken appliances increasing significantly compared to 2021, from 6% to 15% today.
The majority of consumers (70%) choose the appliances according to the price, and the promotions on the household appliances (46%) have doubled in importance in the purchase decision compared to 2021, specialists show.
According to them, the main criteria according to which consumers purchase home appliances have remained the same as two years ago, Romanians being attentive primarily to the price (70%), performance (54%) – especially those aged between 44-55 years (66%), and to energy consumption (54%) – especially adults over 55 years (70%).
