Romanians Sandra Izbasa, Flavius Koczi win gold in European Gymnastics Championships

Romanian gymnasts Sandra Izbasa (in picture) and Flavius Koczi won gold Saturday at the European Gymnastics Championships in Berlin.  Izbasa won gold at the vault exercise and Koczi secured the gold medal at the floor exercise.  Romanian gymnast Amelia Racea came in seventh.

Sandra Izbasa, 21, is the 2008 Olympic champion on floor exercise and a bronze medalist on the team event. She was suppoed to to compete at the 2009 World Championships but she suffered a torn Achilles' tendon and a hand injury, which prevented her from competing and had her sidelined for almost a year.  In September 2010, she made a compeback at the Gent World Cup where she won gold on the floor exercise.
