Romania's tax agency will only accept online tax statements starting January 1
Romania’s tax agency ANAF will no longer accept tax statements on paper if they can be submitted online, according to ANAF president Dragos Doros. The measure will apply starting January 1, 2017.
“I found that there is some resistance coming from professionals when it comes to submitting statements online. For example, in some areas of the country, the 112 statement for the payment of social contributions, income tax, and nominal record of insured persons, is still being submitted on paper,” Doros said, reports local Agerpres.
However, the ANAF president didn’t say what would happen to those who don’t know how to use a computer or don’t have one.
ANAF will start informing taxpayers about the online option, even when they come to the ANAF offices, Dragos Doros said. He previously announced this measure in mid-August.
