Local lender Bancpost posted a net profit of EUR 7.8 million last year. The operating costs dropped by 16% whereas the cost per income indicator dropped by 5 percentage points to 76%.

The bank returned to profit last year, said George Georgakopoulos, Bancpost CEO.

“Bancpost is ready for a long-term increase in the business,” he added.

The bank’s non-performing loans ratio reached 16.6%.

Bancpost is part of the Greek group Eurobank. The bank has 147 units and 7 business centers and serves about 1 million clients in Romania.
