Romania's Competition Council starts investigation at airport company
Romania’s Competition Council has started an investigation that targets a possible anti-competitive agreement between the Bucharest Airport National Company, Dnata Catering, and Millenium Pro Design.
The authorities suspect that the companies have restricted the competition on the commercial services market within the Henri Coanda (Otopeni) airport by concluding agreements on the long-term that may have an anti-competitive effect.
The Bucharest Airport National Company manages the Henri Coanda and the Aurel Vlaicu airports in Bucharest whereas Millenium Pro Design carries out duty-free operations on the Henri Coanda airport. Dnata Catering, a provider of aircraft catering, also operates on the Otopeni airport.
During the investigation, the authorities made an unexpected control taking some documents which are now being verified by the Competition Council experts.
