Romania's foreign exchange reserves down EUR 621 mln in February

Romania's foreign exchange reserves dropped by EUR 621 million in February, to EUR 32 billion, according to data from the Romanian Central Bank (BNR). EUR 750 million entered BNR's coffers in February, while EUR 1.37 billion went out. The reserves had increased by EUR 257 million in January, when the International Monetary Fund sent the EUR 900 million loan installment to the country.

The country's gold reserves was of 103.7 tonnes in February, while its value went up to EUR 3.39 billion along with the international quotation of gold. The total reserves were of EUR 35.46 billion at the end of February, down from EUR 35.9 billion at the end of January.

Romania is due to pay EUR 140.8 million in public external debt in March.
