Romania’s general budget records surplus of over EUR 2 billion
Romania’s general budget recorded a surplus of RON 9.04 billion (EUR 2 billion) after the first ten months of the year, namely 1.28% of the GDP.
By comparison, the budget surplus amounted to RON 1.9 billion (EUR 427 million) at the end of October last year, or 0.29% of the GDP.
The budget’s revenues totaled RON 191.6 billion (over EUR 43 billion) at the end of October this year, or 27.2% of the GDP. They rose by 2.9% compared to last year.
The income tax revenues went up by 13.3%, whereas the revenues from VAT collection increased by 11%. The excise duty revenues rose by 7.4%. The income from social contributions dropped by 1.8% compared to last year, as the employers’ social contributions were reduced by 5%.
