Romania's highways company will create a blacklist for contractors
The construction companies that haven’t respected their contractual obligations will be added to a blacklist, said Catalin Homor, the general director of the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR), the former CNADNR.
These companies may thus be banned from taking part in future tenders for public infrastructure projects, reports local Economica.net.
The CNAIR official hasn’t clearly stated what the consequences of being on the blacklist will be.
CNAIR representatives recently said that Spanish company Corsan, which was in charge of building the Suplacu de Barcau-Bors segment of the Transylvania highway, hasn’t respected its contractual obligations.
However, the list may include several companies. For example, Italian group Salini Impregillo has built two segments of the Sibiu-Nadlac highway and both had problems. One of the segments had to be closed for traffic one year after inauguration to repair some big structural problems.
