Romania's industrial production maintains positive trend
Romania’s industrial production went up by 3.4% in September 2015 compared to the same month of last year, in seasonally adjusted terms, as the manufacturing industry gained 3.6% and the output in the energy industry went up by 6.2%. However, the extractive industry declined by more than 15%.
In the first nine months of this year, the industrial production went up by 3.2% compared to the same period of 2014, mainly due to the manufacturing industry which increased its output by 3.6%. The energy industry also went up by 2.7% while the extractive sector declined by 9.5%, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The industrial production index increased by 29% in the past five years (September 2015 compared to September 2010), driven by the manufacturing industry, which went up by 32%.
