Romania’s industrial production up 2.3% in the first half
Romania’s industrial production increased by 2.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2015, as gross series, mainly due to the 2.9% growth in the manufacturing industry. The mining industry went down by 5.6%, whereas the production and distribution of energy decreased by 0.6%.
As adjusted series by number of working days and seasonality, the industrial production increased by 3.1%, according to recent data from the Statistics Institute.
In June, the industrial production went up by 2.6% month-on-month as gross series, supported by the manufacturing industry (up 3.1%), and the production and distribution of energy (up 1.8%).
Compared to the same month in 2014, Romania’s industrial production increased by 3.1%, mainly due to the 4.9% growth in the production and distribution of energy, and the 3.2% increase registered by the mining industry.
