The Friends of Opera association is organizing  a masked ball at the National Opera of Bucharest on October 26. The event will kick off, rather appropriately, with a performance of Verdi's opera 'Un Ballo in Maschera'. Attendees of the ball can party like it's 1799, with dinner, cocktails, a costume parade, a raffle and dancing to live orchestral music.

The money raised by the event will be used to support Romania's National Opera. The Friends of Opera was set up to help fund Romania's National Opera and aims eventually to support the construction of a new Opera House in the country.
