Romania's opposition parties team up in Social-Liberal Union

Romania’s three opposition parliamentary parties on Saturday signed a protocol forming the Social-Liberal Union, a political alliance of liberals, conservatives and social democrats.

Conservative leader Daniel Constantin and liberal leader Crin Antonescu first signed an agreement whereby the Center-Right Alliance of liberals and conservatives approved the creation of the Social-Liberal Union. Antonescu and social democrat leader Victor Ponta then signed the protocol forming the new political body. Leaders of the three parties approved the alliance with a majority of votes earlier Saturday.
