After going back up to number 3 in the WTA ranking of the best women tennis players in the world, and coming second in the recent WTA Finals in Singapore after losing to the world’s number 1, Romanian tennis player Simona Halep can count her winnings: she made some USD 4.5 million from prizes this year, according to WTAtennis.com.

She also comes fourth in terms of winnings this year. Number one for winnings is also the number 1 WTA Serena Williams, who made some USD 9.3 million from tennis competitions this year.

Simona Halep’s total winnings during her professional career stay at some USD 6.5 million.

The local tennis star also received a red Porsche Carrera as a gift from a local dealer, upon returning home from Singapore. Local media say Halep could even become a Porsche ambassador, like her WTA rival Maria Sharapova, currently number 2 in the world.
