Russia's Putin hopes for a 'more substantial' relationship with Romania

Russian president Vladimir Putin (in picture, right) has recently expressed hope for a 'more substantial and mutually beneficial relationship with Romania'. He made the comments at the accreditation ceremony for 18 ambassadors to Russia. “We are ready to collaborate for strengthening political, economic and humanitarian ties,” said Putin.

His speech included a few words about all of the 18 countries represented via new ambassadors to Russia. The full speech is here.

Among the 18 ambassadors to Russia was Vasile Soare (in picture, left), who started representing Romania after being OK-ed by Romanian president Basescu in September last year.
