Seven Romanian companies make it on Deloitte’s EMEA Fast 500 list for 2014

04 December 2014

Seven Romanian companies have entered Deloitte’s 2014 Technology Fast 500 for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) rankings, Deloitte announced.

The ranking charts the fastest growing public and private technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and clean technology companies from over 20 countries in the region, based on revenue growth over a five-year period. The seven Romanian companies have registered an average growth of 575%.

Six of the Romanian companies have already appeared in Deloitte’s regional CE Technology Fast 50 ranking, which was announced in October this year. Network services provider Bittnet System is the only company which has applied directly for the EMEA program. The company ranks 333rd, with an average growth of 489%.

The highest ranked Romanian company is ITNT, from Sibiu, which registered a 1,433% growth over the last five years. The company is 115th in the ranking.

The other Romanian companies which appear in the ranking are software producers Softelligence (on 355), Life is Hard (362), Teamnet International (389), Fortech (420) and Trencadis (on 465).

“We are impressed to see so many Romanian companies in this year’s report. Achieving a ranking on this year’s list proves their commitment and drive to grow innovative companies—a difficult feat in the competitive and fast-moving technology environment,” said Alina Mirea, Deloitte Partner and local project leader. “This is also a proof that they play global and measure their forces with impressive organizations from countries that have definitely access to much better resources,” she added.

In 2013, Romania had five companies in the EMEA Technology Fast 500 ranking.
