Several Romanian ministries “forget” to record assets in their inventory
Over 5,200 buildings and plots belonging to the state patrimony, which are worth RON 26 billion (EUR 8 billion), were introduced in the state inventory with values of RON 0 or RON 1.
Over 3,500 were not recorded in the accounts, whereas about 1,700 were recorded with a symbolic value of RON 1, according to Romania’s Audit Court, reports local Hotnews.ro.
Most of these assets are in the property of the Government’s Secretariat (2,921), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (471), and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (364).
The state inventory of state-owned assets should reflect the value of all public goods.
