Silver for Romania at the Fencing World Cup in Johannesburg
The Romanian women’s epee team won on Sunday the silver medal at the Fencing World Cup organized in Johannesburg. Romania’s team consisted of Ana Maria Branza, Simona Gherman, Simona Pop and Loredana Dinu.
Romania beat France 34-21 in the semifinals but lost to China in the finals, with a score of 24-26, according to the Romanian Fencing Federation.
At Johannesburg, the Romanian team was coordinated by coaches Dan Podeanu and George Epurescu. A total of 22 teams participated in the competition.
