Star Storage makes EUR 7.8 mln in six months from data storage

03 August 2010

Star Storage, a company which specializes in data storage and information management, grew its turnover by 51 percent in the first half of the year, to EUR 7.8 million, compared to the first six months of last year. The company hopes to achieve an overall increase of 30 percent for the entire year, reaching EUR 18 million in turnover.

This year's grows was fueled by the opening of a EUR 4 million data center. The company invested a further EUR 500,000 in developing the infrastructure in the data center and in adding a new business line, which will be launched towards the end of the third quarter this year.

Most of the company's clients come from the private sector. “Unfortunately, although we were hoping for the public sector segment to increase this year, considering the obvious need for efficient and automatic solutions, the public sector continues to be a disappointment. There is too much talk about the efficiency in the public sector, but IT projects are not here,” said Catalin Paunescu, managing director of Star Storage.
