Austrian company builds EUR 400 mln tractor factory in western Romania
Austrian company Syn Trac is starting the construction of a tractor assembly plant in Ghioroc, close to Romania’s border with Hungary, an investment of over EUR 400 mln that will create about 600 jobs. The first tractor will be delivered in October 2023.
The factory will operate within the industrial park of Ghioroc commune, along with other foreign investors.
It will assemble about 400 tractors per year, which will be delivered mainly to Eastern Europe and the Middle East, said Patrick Monac, the manager of the consortium of companies that will operate in Ghioroc industrial park, local Agerpres reported.
The owner of Syn Trac, Stefan Putz, said that the tractors assembled in Ghioroc, which can reach a speed of 110 kilometres per hour, have unique working capacities, benefiting from patented technologies. In 60 seconds, the tractors can commute from functions needed in agriculture to communal works, forest clearing or other activities, he explained.
