Telecom campaign battle in Romania: Vodafone launches Supernet days before competitor re-branding
Telecom company Vodafone has launched a new campaign to promote its high speed Internet in Romania under the name Supernet. The announcement and launch come just days before one of its main competitors on the Romanian market, Cosmote, will officially re-brand as Deutsche Telekom’s T.
Vodafone’s Supernet has several components – UltraSpeed, which offers a high-speed, broadband connection, XStream, which allows instant video streaming, MaxProtect for security of personal data, and SecurityPro 2.0, for companies to secure and personalize smartphones for their employees.
Vodafone promises 3G Internet speeds of up to 43.2 Mbps, and download speeds of up to 200 Mbps for 4G users.
“Supernet represents the power of our reconfigured network. It is not a new product, nor a new payment plan, but the most recent implementation to offer our clients a remarkable user experience on their smartphones,” said Ravinder Takkar, president and CEO of Vodafone Romania.
The Supernet campaign will run in print, online, Radio, TV and outdoor across Romania. It will coincide with the widespread campaign for the rebranding of Cosmote and Romtelecom in Romania as Deutsche Telekom’s T, set to start end of this week with a major event in several Romanian cities, including the capital.
The T re-branding teaser campaign has already started across Romania, so the week September 8 to 12 will be all about Vodafone's Red against T's Magenta.
