The headquarters of District 1 City Hall, on Banu Manta boulevard in Bucharest, is to be revamped and expanded with an estimated EUR 9.7 million budget.

Work on the building, a historic monument, built in 1927, will last 16 months from the time contractors are chosen through an open tender. The deadline for bids is February 7.

Consolidation work on the building started in 2007, part of a program partnered by the World Bank. The building was partially destroyed by a fire in 2009, when the City Hall temporarily moved to a new building in the Baneasa area.
