UniCredit profit drops in first six months, improvement shows in second quarter
Italian group UniCredit posted a gross profit of EUR 42 million in the first half of the year in Romania, down 15.5 percent compared to the same period of last year, according to the group's financial results.
Romania is the third country in terms of the cost of risk for the UniCredit group, after Kazahstan and Ukraine. Then come Russia and Bosnia.
In the second quarter of the year, the group posted a pre-tax profit of EUR 23.6 million in Romania, an increase of 33 percent, at constant foreign exchange rate.
The bank has 246 branches in Romania, similarly to the size of the network in Bulgaria. UniCRedit Group runs the UniCredit Tiriac bank in Romania.
