UPC gains 52,600 customers in Romania in one year

UPC, the second-biggest operator of cable communications in Romania, gained 52,600 new subscribers in the last 12 months, reaching a total of 1,259,400 customers at the end of September this year, according to data from parent-group Liberty Global.

Compared to the previous quarter of this year, the operator has increased on all business segments.

UPC Romania’s revenues rose by 8.5% in the third quarter compared to the same quarter of last year, reaching EUR 38.3 million. At the end of September, the company had around 272,100 analogue TV cable subscribers, 629,600 digital TV cable subscribers and DTH (Satellite) 349,500 customers.

In the last financial year, UPC saw a net loss of EUR 51.7 million. The company is undergoing an investment programs in expanding its fixed broadband networks.
