Ursus Breweries invests over EUR 90 mln in revamping factory in Buzau, Romania
Local brewery Ursus Breweries, owned by SABMiller, has invested over EUR 90 million in the last eight years to revamp its production unit in Buzau, Romania.
Ursus Breweries president Andrew Highcock, quoted by local news agency Agerpres, said the project was the largest investment ever made in the city.
“From 2005 to present, Ursus Breweries invested over EUR 90 million in revamping its factory in Buzau, the production capacity increasing by 150 percent," Highcock said.
"The factory in Buzau was the first acquisition South African group SABMiller made in Romania and also the largest investment made in this city."
Ursus Breweries' brands include Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell, Grolsch, Ursus, Redd`s, Timisoreana, Ciucas and Stejar.
The beer producer currently owns three breweries in Brasov, Buzau and Timisoara and a mini production unit in Cluj.
