Vodafone Romania reports lower revenue per user towards end of 2010
Telecom company Vodafone Romania witnessed its average revenue per user drop to EUR 6.2 in the third quarter of last year, from EUR 7.6 in the same quarter of the previous year.
“The average revenue per user (ARPU) was affected by the reclassification of some revenue categories in the third quarter of the 2010-2011 financial year. Eliminating the effect of these accounting adjustments, the ARPU value would have been of EUR 6.7, using the same comparison basis as in the previous quarters,” according to Vodafone.
Vodafone's revenues from services went down by 9 percent compared to the third quarter of 2009. Vodafone had 9.8 million customers in Romania at the end of last year, up 1.46 percent on the end of 2009. Around 62 percent of these customers use pre-paid services, while the rest are post-paid users, paying a monthly subscription.
