Women’s handball: Romania defeat world champions Norway in EURO 2016 Qualifiers
Romania’s women’s handball team avenged their dramatic semifinal loss at the World Championship in 2015 with a categorical victory against world champions Norway in the EURO 2016 Qualifiers.
Romania won 25 to 20, in front of a home crowd of 7,200, helped by another stellar performance by Cristina Neagu, who scored 10 goals.
With this win, Romania are almost sure they will play at the European Championship in Sweden, in December.
They also build up a good morale for the pre-Olympic tournament in Denmark, on March 18-20, where Romania will play against Denmark, Montenegro, and Uruguay to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio.
