Romania will sign a new loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund in 2011 to finance its budget deficit, Romanian President Traian Basescu said Tuesday.

Marinis Stratopoulos is the new general manager of Banca Romaneasca, a local lender majority owned by the National Bank of Greece group. His appointment has been cleared by the Romanian Central Bank (BNR).

Over 50,000 volunteers in 39 counties countrywide joined the national cleanup action "Let's Do It Romania!" until Monday, and organizers say they expect over 200,000 people to partake in the campaign on Saturday.

Microsoft Romania has seen its turnover back upwards from December last year and hopes to achieve a 6 percent hike in its revenues for the fiscal year 2011, compared to 2010, the company has announced without disclosing the actual sales figure. Microsoft Romania posted a sales increase of 3 percent during January – June this year.

Russian software reseller Softline, which has recently opened an office on the Romanian market, expects a USD 0.5 million turnover from the local subsidiary in the first year of activity, with most of the revenues coming from the re-sale of Microsoft products
