Around 70,000 tax payers have acquired digital certificates in order to submit their fiscal declarations online in Romania, according to the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF). The companies which haven't acquired digital certificates have a six-month grace period to do so and can still submit the declaration in hard copy at the ANAF offices. In total, around 470,000 tax payers have to submit the single declaration for social contribution and income tax.- the 112 declaration.

Bhattacharjee has also talked to two police officers who investigate the network.

The rate of new employments in Romanian companies dropped by 75 percent on the year in 2009, because of the economic crisis, while dismissals septupled, according to a survey by consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. Furthermore, the crisis brought resignations down from 18.3 percent in 2008 to 8 percent in 2009, according to the PwC Saratoga Romania 2010 survey.
