A photo exhibition titled 'In Search of the Lost Bucharest' will take place on Wednesday, October 20, from 17,30 hours, at the Fabrica Club (50, 11 Iunie Street). The exhibition is organized by the Resource Center for Public Participation (CeRe) and its partners, “Save Bucharest” Association and “Bucharest – pro urbe” Association.

Employees of Romania’s state-owned subway company Metrorex threaten to go on strike in December if their bonuses for special working conditions are eliminated from the company’s budget. Union leader Ion Radoi told a news conference Monday employees might trigger a work conflict mid-November and go as far as staging a full-blown strike if the Government lowers the company's budget or eliminates workers' bonuses for special conditions when it drafts the 2011 state budget.
Oil and gas company Petrom has signed with Canadian company PetroSantander, which will undertake investments and perform services on behalf of Petrom in nine fields in the Arad area. This is the second such contract signed by Petrom, after recently partnering HuntOil in drilling in Eastern Romania. The partnership with PetroSantander will increase production by 50 percent in the fields in the next five years.
A delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's Board of Directors (EBRD) is visiting Romania between October 17 and October 19, as part of a regular series of consultations. "The visit is part of a regular series of consultations that enable EBRD Directors to obtain up-to-date information on developments in the bank's countries of operation and an update on Romania's investment priorities," the EBRD said.
