Romanian Bogdan Mustata is one of the four winners of the Sundance Institute/Mahindra Global Filmmaking Award. His film project, called 'Wolf' (Lupu'), joins three other projects in Israel, Malaysia and Mexico. Each of the winners will receive a USD 10,000 cash prize, attendance at industry meetings at the Sundance Film Festival, mentoring from Institute staff and participation in a feature film program lab.

The documentary "The Autobiography of Nicolae Ceausescu, produced by Andrei Ujica, has won the Spotlight section at the Cinema Eye Honors, one of the most important categories of awards granted to non-fiction films. Dedicated to films that deserve more promotion in the United States, Spotlight is the only category that takes into account films that have not yet been distributed overseas.

The next film in the Batman series – "The Dark Knight Rises" – to be directed by Christopher Nolan, might be filmed in Bucharest this spring, City Hall officials told Mediafax newswire.

Romanian actor Sebastian Stan will star in a movie inspired by the play "A View From The Bridge"of the American playwright Arthur Miller. The Romanian actor has recently starred in the "Black Swan" drama, directed by Darren Aronofsky, where he played alongside Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel.

Bucharestless, a documentary capturing the contemporary spirit of the Romanian capital city, formerly known as “The Little Paris”, is expected to be soon released, having reached the post-production phase.

Two Romanian short movies, '15 iulie' and 'Apele Tac' have been selected for the Berlin Film Festival shorts category – Berlinale Shorts 2011.
