Romanian carmaker Automobile Dacia, the Romanian unit of Finnish mobile giant Nokia, oil company OMV Petrom and oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare were the country’s top exporters in 2010 both in the European Union and outside the EU, the Economy Ministry said Friday.

The Romanian Government has delayed until the spring of 2012 the sale of a 15 percent stake in natural gas producer Romgaz Medias, according to the country’s draft letter of intent agreed with the International Monetary Fund.

Romanian foreign direct investments, or FDI, fell 25.6 percent to EUR 2.6 billion in 2010, from EUR 3.5 billion in the previous year, the central bank said Friday.

Romanian lender Banca Transilvania (BT) manages EUR 311 million in wealth on the private banking segment, having increased by 20 percent the volume of managed assets for wealthy clients in 2010. Its clients need to have cash of at least EUR 100,000 placed with the bank for at least three months in the row, to qualify for the private banking services.

French carmaker Renault will launch two models under the Romanian Dacia brand in Europe in 2012, the company said in a press release Thursday. Renault plans to launch a family car and a light commercial vehicle under the Dacia brand.

Romanian company La Fantana posted a turnover of EUR 17 million, the same as in the previous year, with a volume of sales of almost 80 million liters of bottled water, according to the company.

The European Commission has recently approved a EUR 30 million aid scheme for Romania's farming segment, aiming to help farmers who find it hard to get loans during this period. The aid within this program is time – limited and structured as loans.

The Toro Company has purchased a plot of 3,5 hectares in Ploiesti West Park where it intends to build a manufacturing facility of 11,000 sqm that will employ approximately 100 people, once fully operational. Constructions will start in early 2011 and the facility will include production/assembly, warehouse and office space.

Romanian housing prices will continue to decrease slightly in the first half of the year and will stabilize in the second half, according to evaluation firm Darian. Company representatives said they expect foreclosures to continue this year, which, coupled with more relaxed financing conditions, should ease real estate transactions this year.

The Portuguese Millennium Bank has launched a new business line for Romanian clients with high incomes. The new product, named Prestige features wealth management services, individual client approach, financial planning and counseling and also includes transactional, saving, lending and insurance products, as well as tailored investment products.
