The antiquarian bookshelves in Universitate area of Bucharest will no longer tell a dull, gray story when closed during the evening. They will be painted with realistic-comical scenes in the everyday life in Bucharest by a group of artists involved in the 'I Love Bucharest' – the Adventures of Mr. Urban project. The organizers of this project are 'Asociatia din Pod' (The Attic Association) and Mora Foundation. The 22 bookshelves will be painted with comic-like drawings. The artists have already started to work on this project and should be ready in two weeks.

France has started sending back to Romania the illegal Roma immigrants it had found in the country, with the first batch due to arrive on Thursday. 93 Romanian citizens of Roma ethnicity will be sent back on two commercial flights today, followed by others in the next days, according to Mediafax newswire quoting data from the Foreign Affairs Ministry. These are all voluntary repatriations and each Roma received EUR 300 to return to Romania, while for children the compensation was of EUR 100.

An agricultural-themed TV station will be launched in Romania, after it has received the approval from the Romanian Audiovisual Council (can). The TV station, called Agro Channel, will be launched by the end of the year by Valtec Media Broadcasting SRL and will be headed by Bogdan Tudor, who also owns 10 percent of the shares. The other two shareholders are Narcis Somesfalean and Adrian Nedelcu.

Four babies have died after a blast which took place at Giulesti Maternity hospital in Bucharest last evening. The fire, which started started in the resuscitation unit, was soon after extinguished, but 11 newborn babies were affected. They were one or two days old and premature born. As events unfolded, not all the babies had been identified, while mothers were waiting outside the hospital for news.
