Ten European Union member states still impose restrictions for Romania migrant workers, according to the Romanian Labor Ministry, quoted by Agerpres. The United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, Holland and Malta make the group of EU countries which restrict the access both Romanian and Bulgarian workers on their markets. The transition period for workers in Romania and Bulgaria started with the EU accession in 2007 and will end in 2013.

The Chevrolet brand sold 26 percent more cars in Romania in the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period of last year, according to the company. The Chevrolet brand went up four places in the top of car makers, reaching the sixth position.

Retailer Kaufland Romania will open a second hypermarket in Bistrita on a land plot three times larger than the one which hosts the existing Kaufland store in the city, according to Agerpress newswire.

Romania may receive by the end of the year another tranche out of the EUR 13 billion stand-by loan from the International Monetary Fund, a fund official said Monday, quoted by Mediafax. The money will enter the central bank's reserves, said Jeffrey Franks, head of the IMF mission to Bucharest (in picture, right).

Nouvelle Vague, the French band that conquered the world with bossa nova covers of punk and new wave classics will return for a third concert in Romania, on November 22 at Sala Palatului. The event is, along with Herbie Hancock's concert, part of the Fusion Nights events staged at the Sala Palatului in Bucharest. MAP
