Two Romanian movies, the feature length 'Tuesday after Christmas' and the short movie 'Lord' were awarded at the Francofon Film festival in Namur, Belgium last week. “Tuesday after Christmas', directed by Radu Muntean, got the ' Bayard d'Or du Meilleur film' award, while actor Mimi Branescu received the best actor award. 'Lord', a short movie directed by Adrian Sitaru, received the ' Bayard d'Or du Meilleur Court Métrage - Prix François-Bovesse' award.

As many as 33 million passengers traveled by train during the first six years of the year in Romania, according to the Transport and Infrastructure Minister. The passenger railway traffic is expected to drop this year, after last year 70 million passengers used Romanian Railways (CFR) trains across Romania.

An explosion occurred at the Petromidia refinery on Sunday afternoon, injuring three people who have suffered minor burns, according to the Territorial Labor Inspectorate . The explosion occurred after a pipe broke while the three workers were making pressure tests on a reactor. The refinery was shut down for revision, which is due to last until November 1st.

Romanian airline Blue Air will continue to operate, either on its own or under a court-appointed administrator, and will submit a request for the suspension of the insolvency procedure on Monday, said Gheorghe Racaru, the parent group's strategy and development manager. Racaru said the court's case file contains proof that the company has paid its debts.

Romanian carmaker Dacia sold 44,194 Logan cars in Russia in the first nine months of 2010, up 15 percent from 2009, ranking sixth among the best-sold brands, in a market which grew 18 percent, to 1.3 million cars. In September , Dacia sold 4,805 Logan cars, 37 percent more than the 3,497 units sold in September 2009, according to the data of the Auto Constructor Commission with the Association of European Companies in the Russian Federation.
