Google, which has recently established an office in Romania, has started recruiting staff for its local office, but the team will only be made of ten people , in a first phase, according to Dan Bulucea (in picture), head of Google Romania, quoted by Business Magazin.

The Romanian law firm has also promoted five lawyers to Senior Associate. The promotions are part of the firm’s annual performance review taking place in November and all the appointments are effective from January 1st, 2011.

Jan Gijsen is the new president of Ford Romania and the head of the car maker's factory in Craiova. Gijsen will come to office at the beginning of January, joining the Romanian subsidiary from the position of head of new markets divisions for Ford Europe.

Codrut Pascu (in picture), the managing partner of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in Romania for the last five years, has been promoted regionally, being in charge of the Turkish and Bulgarian operations as well, apart from the Romanian ones. Pascu, 35, is now member of the company's steering committee in the Central and Eastern Europe.

Mihai Mares (in picture), the former Office Managing Partner of Garrigues in Romania, has joined Musat & Asociatii law firm, along with the team which used to work for Garrigues in Romania.

Former Romanian envoy to Singapore Silviu Ionescu will be released Thursday evening from prison, after the Court of Bucharest accepted his request for his arrest to be replaced with a ban on leaving the country. On November 17, a lower court rejected his request, ruling that Ionescu's arrest is legal and justified.

Daniel Turnheim (in picture) will be the new chief financial officer of the company, replacing Reinhard Pichler, while Hilmar Kroat-Reder will be responsible for gas and energy, replacing Gerald Kappes. Busch has been running the Arval subsidiary in Germany for the last six years and was head of logistics with Muller-Brot AG until then. He replaces Arnault Leglaye, who has been running the Romanian subsidiary since 2008.

Oil and gas company OMV's Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer (in picture) was charged with insider trading after buying shares in the company a week before a major divestment, according to Bloomberg.
